3aHealth is leading the development of the Integrated National eHealth Ecosystem – eHealth4U project that aspires to set the stage for the entire eHealth ecosystem of the country of Cyprus via the deployment of an integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The eHealth4u project will implement and abide by the No. 59 (I) / 2019 Electronic Health Law of Cyprus, the IHE interoperability profiles proposed by the EU under the 1025/2012 directive in 2015, and the 2016 eHealth network guideline on the electronic exchange of health data under Cross-Border Directive 2011/24/EU. As such, eHealth4u will allow the seamless sharing of medical data at both the national and cross-border level, ensuring interoperability between accredited 3rd party systems, while implementing security and privacy requirements for the benefit of the citizen (video link).
Importantly, the eHealth4u ecosystem implements a wide range of eHealth services that range from mobile health applications for physiological parameters monitoring and medication adhering, medical image and video services leveraging diagnostic ROI encoding and communication of clinical content, and telemonitoring applications for the elderly and homebound patients. The successful deployment of the eHealth4U platform and medical services will elevate the National eHealth ecosystem with significant impact to society and the country at large.
eHealth4u pilot services deployment will commence during the 4th quarter of 2020 and will involve 3000 patients currently receiving treatment at both private and public hospitals that are members of the consortium, including the Cyprus State Health Services Organization (SHSO).
